The extended exhibition tent on the campus and in the buildings of OTH Regensburg were already bustling with activity early on Wednesday. This year, around 260 companies set up their stands over two days at the Connecta company contact fair. The fair is organised by the more than 120 volunteer members of Connecta e.V.
At the opening of Connecta 2024, the guests of honour were therefore not sparing with their praise for these impressive figures. Walter Jonas, District President of the Upper Palatinate, saw the record number of exhibitors as proof of the great interest in the skilled workers being trained at OTH Regensburg. Teaching and research at the university are at a high level. Mayor Astrid Freudenstein also congratulated the students, who had once again put together a fantastic programme. Christina Auburger, Martin Beck and Dominik Schlosser, the board team of Connecta e.V., were particularly pleased about the significant increase in membership this year. This is a sign that the students at OTH and the University of Regensburg are still motivated to get involved on a voluntary basis.
Prof Dr Carina Braun, Vice President for Appointments and Student Lifecycle Management at OTH Regensburg, also acknowledged this in her welcoming address. As a university of applied sciences, OTH Regensburg is in close contact with companies and institutions, and the students, who are the sought-after specialists of tomorrow, benefit from this. Visitors to the fair have the perfect opportunity to make contact with potential employers at an early stage and find out about exciting internships, working student positions and career starts.
During a tour of the trade fair, the guests of honour took the opportunity to talk to the exhibitors themselves. From mechanical engineering and IT to social services and healthcare - the range of companies and organisations is impressive. As an additional supporting programme, visitors can take professional application photos and have their application documents checked by experts.
