In the coming semester, two students from IBU will come to Regensburg, while three students from OTH Regensburg will gain experience at the Bosnian university. This will noticeably intensify cooperation with the partner university.
In June 2024, the IBU hosted its International Week in Sarajevo. This event provided an ideal opportunity to intensify cooperation in the fields of computer science, mathematics and the teaching of entrepreneurship in the IT sector. Prof Dr Santana and Prof Waas from the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics accepted the invitation and were warmly welcomed. Together with colleagues from all over Europe, they took part in workshops, lectures and numerous discussions.
The Erasmus-funded lecturer mobility programme pursued several objectives: to promote cultural and professional exchange, to establish contacts at faculty level and to discuss opportunities for student exchange. ‘The campus and the facilities at International Burch University made an excellent impression. The friendliness of the professors and staff is remarkable,’ summarised Prof Santana.
The visit was rounded off with a tour of the city and a visit to a traditional restaurant serving Bosnian specialities. ‘Sarajevo is a beautiful, lively and diverse city that far exceeded my expectations,’ he added enthusiastically.
