All bands that are mainly made up of students can take part, whereby at least one person must be enrolled at the OTH. Solo acts or duos are also very welcome.
In order to participate, three original compositions must be uploaded by 15 January 2025 at the latest to
by 15 January 2025 at the latest. A maximum of 5 formations will then be selected from the applications received to compete in the regional preliminary round on 28 February 2025 at the W1 Centre for Young Culture Regensburg. A jury consisting of students will then select the act that will represent the OTH at the international final on 9 April 2025 in the Leerer Beutel.
The number of participating universities has also increased again: in addition to the OTH Regensburg, the University Clermont-Auvergne (France), the Western University of Applied Sciences Bergen (Norway) and the Ovidius University Constanta (Romania), Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania) will also be taking part this time. In addition to prize money, the winning band can look forward to international promotion through the Europavox music platform.
The international final will be framed by a welcome week from 7-11 April 2025, during which the international guests from the four universities will not only explore the OTH, but also the city of Regensburg with its broad and diverse cultural life. On the part of OTH Regensburg, the competition with the Welcome Week is organised by Prof. Dr Christian Zürner (Faculty SG). He is also available to answer any questions interested student bands may have about the contest(christian.zuerner(at)oth-regensburg.de).
