Deutschlandstipendium

Into the future with AI - impulses from the first themed round table

On April 8, 2025, OTH Regensburg hosted a themed get-together as part of the Deutschlandstipendium. The participants were able to immerse themselves in the topic of artificial intelligence through two exciting presentations and lively discussions.

In the first presentation, “AI - tips, tricks and tools”, sponsor Johannes Ostner from 42 Coding Solutions GmbH presented various AI tools and went into more detail on how to use them. In particular, Mr. Ostner explained how important the formulation of precise prompts* is for the effective use of artificial intelligence. A “prompt” is an input or request that is made to an AI in order to receive a response. He gave valuable tips on how to create targeted queries to get the best possible results.

The presentation also offered the opportunity to try out the tips presented directly and gain initial experience with artificial intelligence. Many participants asked interested questions and tested the AI tools in parallel. The speaker also addressed important factors that should be taken into account when using AI. For example, he emphasized that sensitive data should not be entered into publicly accessible AI systems and that the information provided by AI should always be subjected to a thorough review.

Florian Waldeck then presented the use of artificial intelligence in the corporate network of C4TRENDS GmbH, another sponsor of the Deutschlandstipendium, in his lecture “Bildung.neu.denken” (Education.rethink.education). The network of companies and foundations consists of BHS Corrugated GmbH, C4TRENDS GmbH, the Edmund Bradatsch Foundation and the Lars and Christian Engel Foundation.

Particularly noteworthy was the use of artificial intelligence to create customized learning scenarios that can be used in a virtual training setting with the help of VR glasses. These are used in the context of training as well as in the induction of new employees in the company in order to make induction and training even more practical and efficient. The presentation offered an exciting look at the innovative use of technology in education and its potential for the future. Together with his colleague Xiaochen Zuo, he also demonstrated various VR learning scenarios to the participants.

Numerous discussions were held in a relaxed atmosphere in which ideas and experiences were exchanged - both with regard to professional developments and the opportunities that artificial intelligence offers for personal and professional development.

The feedback from attendees was consistently positive: the combination of high-caliber presentations and the opportunity to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere was perceived as particularly valuable. The event showed once again how important the dialog between sponsors and scholarship holders is for successful collaboration.

About the Deutschlandstipendium

The Deutschlandstipendium is a national scholarship program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It supports talented and high-achieving students with a one-year scholarship. Half of the scholarship is paid for by private sponsors, companies and foundations, while the other half is paid for by the federal government.

As part of the funding, both the scholarship holders and the regional sponsors benefit from the many networking opportunities.
