OTH Regensburg has made it: in the latest ranking of the student portal StudyCheck.de, it has climbed to the top spot among the most popular colleges and universities in Bavaria. With a score of 8.97 and a recommendation rate of 97 per cent, OTH Regensburg holds its own at the top in Bavaria and also shines in a Germany-wide comparison.
OTH Regensburg was ranked seventh among all colleges and universities in Germany. The university is also honoured with the Category Award 2025: In the category ‘Universities with 5,000 to 15,000 students’, OTH Regensburg comes in third place nationwide.
Top ratings from students
The success of OTH Regensburg is based on the ratings of students and alumni. A total of 538 testimonials were analysed in 2024. These reflect the high level of satisfaction with the courses on offer, the teaching and the modern facilities.
One student writes: ‘With the Master's in Industrial Engineering, OTH Regensburg offers a very good degree programme for anyone who is interested in technology but also wants to gain insights into other areas. With its fantastic campus life and beautiful old town, it's the perfect place to study for me.’
The modern, well-equipped university is also emphasised: ‘The lecturers are very friendly and helpful. The degree programme offers many opportunities, especially with a view to later professional life. Guest lectures and practical exercises round off the programme. The university has very modern facilities compared to others.’
Every year, the Studycheck.de platform honours the most popular universities and colleges in Germany. The university ranking is based on all experience reports published on StudyCheck.de from the previous calendar year 2024. 83,708 reviews from 583 universities from 2024 were analysed. The ranking of the individual universities is determined by the so-called score value, which is formed by the star rating and the recommendation rate of the students. The ratings speak for themselves: with an average star rating of 4.17 and a recommendation rate of 97 per cent, OTH Regensburg is one of the leaders in Germany.
Outstanding degree programmes and high recommendation
The top 5 degree programmes at OTH Regensburg include Business Informatics, International Business Management, Logistics, Business Management and Biomedical Engineering. These degree programmes are particularly frequently praised for their practical orientation and future-oriented content.
