Georg Bäumler, Stefan Buchner, Benedikt Bugl, Anna Rieger, Viola Schneider and Prof Dr Christoph Höller reported to the interested audience on their respective research projects (AkuPap, AudioOpt, ClimbAssist, SPlanRoB). The strongly interdisciplinary orientation of the Acoustics department was also reflected in the fact that the OTH employees come from three different faculties and various laboratories at OTH Regensburg (ANK - Prof Höller, EI - Prof Sehr, MB - Profs Rabl and Wagner).
The lectures contributed to five different specialised sessions:
- Prof Höller (ANK) and Anna Rieger (ANK & MB): Building acoustics
- Georg Bäumler (ANK & MB): Room acoustics
- Stefan Buchner (MB): Numerical acoustics
- Benedikt Bugl (MB & EI): Vehicle Acoustics
- Viola Schneider (EI): Virtual Acoustics
The annual conference of the German Acoustical Society (DAGA) takes place at a different location every year and enables the acoustical community in Germany to meet regularly. This year's conference, which was jointly organised with the Danish Acoustical Society (DAS) in Copenhagen, was attended by around 1200 participants (https://www.das-daga2025.eu/). Over 500 papers were presented on a wide range of acoustic topics, from building acoustics and technical noise control to electroacoustics, flow acoustics and bioacoustics. In addition to the specialist presentations, the DAGA conference also focussed on establishing contacts and maintaining existing networks in the acoustics community.
The presentations given by the OTH participants met with great interest, and many interesting discussions with other scientists took place.
The strong presence of OTH Regensburg at the DAGA conference shows that acoustics as a fascinating and interdisciplinary subject area is also being researched with enthusiasm in many areas at OTH Regensburg. This enthusiasm was already evident last year when Manfred Zollner, Professor Emeritus at OTH Regensburg, was honoured with the Helmholtz Medal. The OTH participants are already looking forward to the next DAGA conference, which will take place in Dresden in 2026.
