Prize for good teaching awarded to Prof Dr Markus Goldhacker

The students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering have voted: Prof Dr Markus Goldhacker from OTH Regensburg has been awarded the faculty's ‘Prize for Good Teaching’ for the 2024 academic year. This annual honour, which is awarded by the students, recognises his exceptional commitment to teaching.

Prof Dr Goldhacker received the award for his courses in the Cognitive Systems (KS) and Data Analytics (DA) modules, which have been rated particularly highly for many years. Both modules are very popular among students and have consistently received excellent ratings in evaluations.

The ceremonial presentation of the certificate took place on 11 December 2024. The Dean of the Faculty, Prof Dr Ulrich Briem, presented the award together with the Dean of Studies, Prof Dr Andreas Wagner, and student representative Tobias Busch. The prize is endowed with a sum of 500 euros.

The students evaluate each course in the faculty every two years. At the end of the semester, they receive an evaluation form in which they can rate their lecturers. Dean of Studies Prof Dr Wagner then evaluates the results and proposes lecturers who have received particularly positive ratings to the student representatives. The final decision on the awarding of the ‘Prize for Good Teaching’ is made by the student representatives.

This award recognises Prof. Dr Goldhacker's particular commitment to teaching, which is characterised by both sound specialist knowledge and motivating and practical teaching.
