OTH Regensburg start-up honoured with prestigious award

The inklusionsmatch team wins the Digital Innovations start-up competition organised by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection.

In the 2024 summer round, a Regensburg start-up, inklusionsmatch, has once again been honoured in the renowned Digital Innovations start-up competition. After the OTH start-ups 2Lock (2023) and retury (2021), this is the third idea that has emerged from founders at OTH Regensburg to be honoured with a start-up award.

The start-up project inklusionsmatch supports companies in implementing various options for inclusion. From the 293 submissions from various industries and fields of application - from the energy and digital economy to the mobility sector and the cultural and creative industries - 21 award winners were selected who are characterised by innovative digital business ideas. The start-up inklusionsmatch, represented by the founding team Johannes Dotzler, Katharina Dotzler and Tobias Hiebl, is one of the 21 award-winning projects. The socially valuable and innovative approach of inklusionsmatch was particularly emphasised at the award ceremony: the platform brings together profit and non-profit companies and supports them in integrating social added value into their value creation processes.

Every year, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) honours pioneering digital innovations with the start-up award. Over 90% of the award-winning start-ups to date have been successful, confirming the competition as a springboard for pioneering ideas. At this year's Digital Summit of the Federal Government on 21 October 2024 in Frankfurt am Main, the winning teams received their certificates and prize money in the presence of participants from politics, business, science and civil society. The founders also receive extensive coaching, mentoring and networking opportunities. The award was presented by Dr Anna Christmann, the Commissioner for the Digital Economy and Start-ups at the BMWK.

The representative for start-ups at OTH Regensburg, Prof. Dr Sean Patrick Saßmannshausen, and the mentor of the start-up inklusionsmatch, Prof. Dr Irmgard Schroll-Decker, congratulated the start-up team on their success. Those interested in founding a company at OTH Regensburg can contact the OTH Start-up Centre for comprehensive support.
