Additional studies

Important milestone: The first graduates of the new additional quantum technology programme receive their certificates!

The first two graduates have successfully completed the programme and were ceremoniously presented with their certificates!

Jitesh Chawda and Björn Michelmann are the first graduates to successfully complete the additional quantum technology degree programme. Prof. Dr Ioana Serban, co-founder and lecturer in the study programme, presented them with their certificates at a ceremony on 22.11.2024.

The additional degree programme, which was newly introduced in the winter semester 2023/24, uniquely combines the expertise of the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics and the Faculty of Applied Natural and Cultural Sciences. It comprises three specialised lectures that impart interdisciplinary knowledge in the dynamic field of quantum technology.

‘I particularly appreciate the mixture of theory and practical implementation,’ says Björn Michelmann. ‘I particularly liked the mathematical foundation in combination with the laboratory experiments,’ adds Jitesh Chawda.

Björn Michelmann, who is studying electrical engineering and information technology, and Jitesh Chawda, who is studying electrical and microsystems engineering, exemplify the interdisciplinary approach of this programme. Eleven other students from the ANK, EI (incl. MAPR), IM and M faculties are currently enrolled on the additional Quantum Technology programme.

Congratulations to Jitesh Chawda and Björn Michelmann, who are paving the way for future students in this pioneering field with their commitment and success!
