What is the (part-time) Nursing Management degree programme about?
The course will prepare you for management and leadership roles in the health care sector. You will learn about project and quality management and become skilled in care and case management. In addition, the programme promotes personal development as well as the acquisition of leadership skills and strategies in the field of HR management, enabling you to take on leadership and development tasks. This is also achieved through integrated practical semesters, which can be credited for students with at least three years of relevant professional experience (credit transfers are examined on a case-by-case basis).

Studies and organisational matters
So that everything runs smoothly
How is the degree structured? When do lectures take place? What else do I need to know about the part-time nursing management programme? You can find answers to these and other questions here.
Lectures take place in a compact block model (one four-day block at the beginning and at the end of the semester) and fortnightly on two days (e.g. Thursday/Friday or Friday/Saturday). There are usually no lectures during the Bavarian school holidays (Christmas, August). Dates are always announced around six months in advance so that you can arrange your work schedule accordingly. The programme is organised in such a way that it can be completed alongside a full-time job and personal commitments.
All courses take place on the campus of the OTH Regensburg. The entire university infrastructure is available to you during your studies (IT equipment, library, student house, cafeteria, university sports facilities, etc.). You are enrolled like all other students.
The degree programme is accredited and bears the seal of the Accreditation Council. Accreditation was awarded by the Internal Accreditation Commission on 30 July 2021 and is valid until 30 September 2028.
Top marks in the CHE university ranking: Nursing degree programmes at the OTH Regensburg are rated top in both Bavaria and Germany!
There are various admission routes, even without the standard university entrance qualification (Abitur):
- You have the entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences (Fachabitur) or the general university entrance qualification (Abitur) and have completed a relevant vocational apprenticeship (nurse, pediatric nurse, geriatric nurse, midwife), or
- You have a subject-specific university entrance qualification for those with professional qualifications (Bavarian Higher Education Act, Art. 45) through at least two years of vocational training at a technical college and at least three years of professional experience (nurse, pediatric nurse, geriatric nurse, midwife) combined with one year of trial studies (30 credits must be achieved after the full trial year).
- Alternatively, it may be possible to begin your degree by taking modules from the "Introduction to Nursing Management" modular study programme.
All prospective students must attend an interview with one of our advisors to qualify for enrolment.
