OTH BRIDGE

OTH BRIDGE is a project within the framework of the programme "Förderung internationaler Talente zur Integration in Studium und Arbeitsmarkt" ("Promoting Academic Success and Labour Market Integration of International Talents") (FIT), which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The FIT project OTH BRIDGE (Building Relations for International Degree-Seeking Students to German Employment) aims to offer international degree-seeking students at the OTH Regensburg increased support throughout the entire student life cycle (before their studies, during their studies, during the transition to the German labour market) and to bring them into contact with companies from the region at an early stage. In addition to classes in German as a Foreign Language, intercultural and study organisation workshops, seminars and personal advice on career-related topics as well as the expansion of the mentoring programme and advisory services for international students and applicants, the project includes the following key initiatives: the establishment of a student group ("International Campus Friends"), which promotes networking between international and German students and expands the welcoming culture for international students on campus; the targeted alignment of the dual study programme to the needs of international students in order to facilitate early and intensive practical job experience in the participating companies; an increased range of support for students in the English-language master's degree programme in Electrical and Microsystems Engineering (initiative MEM-GATE = German Acquisition and Technology Education) to improve the students' transition to the regional labour market, and MEM-GATE should serve as a model for other degree programmes.
