DAAD-Gastprofessor Dr. Alexandr Knápek vom Institut für wissenschaftliche Instrumente der Akademie der Wissenschaften der Tschechischen Republik (CAS) mit Sitz in Brünn ist der neue Gastprofessor an der Fakultät Angewandte Natur- und Kulturwissenschaften der Ostbayerischen Technischen Hochschule Regensburg (OTH Regensburg) für das Wintersemester 2020/2021. Dr. Knápek forscht hier und bietet Vorlesungen im Rahmen der Bachelor- und Masterstudiengänge Mikrosystemtechnik und Electrical and Microsystems Engineering an. Zwei der Vorlesungen, die sich an Studierende der beiden genannten Studiengänge richten, hält er in englischer Sprache, und zwar zu den Themen "Advanced Optoelectronics" und "Advanced Semiconductor Technology/Vacuum Systems".
"Nicht-orthogonal geordnete Feldemissionsarrays" ist Forschungsthema
Die Forschungsinteressen von Dr. Knápek richten sich auf Kaltfeldemissionsstrukturen und verwandte Techniken, die im Allgemeinen mit der Elektronenstrahllithografie und Elektronenmikroskopie verbunden sind. Während seines Aufenthalts an der OTH Regensburg arbeitet er zusammen mit seinem Gastgeber Prof. Dr. Rupert Schreiner und seiner Forschungsgruppe an dem Thema "nicht-orthogonal geordnete Feldemissionsarrays".
Akademischer Werdegang
Alexandr Knápek, geboren 1983, studierte an der Fakultät für Elektrotechnik und Kommunikation der Technischen Universität Brünn, wo er 2013 auch promovierte, und zwar mit einer Arbeit über "Methoden der Präparation und Charakterisierung von experimentellen Feldemissionskathoden". Nach Abschluss seines Doktorats wechselte Dr. Knápek als Postdoktorand an das Institut für wissenschaftliche Instrumente des CAS, insbesondere in die Gruppe von Dr. Ilona Müllerová, wo er sich mit der Rasterelektronenmikroskopie mit sehr niedriger Energie beschäftigte.
Seit 2017 arbeitet er als Forscher in der Gruppe für Elektronenstrahllithografie unter der Leitung von Associated Prof. Dr. Vladimír Kolařík, wo er experimentelle Forschung betreibt und auch Universitätsstudierende betreut, die aus den Fakultäten Elektrotechnik und Kommunikation sowie Maschinenbau an der Technischen Universität Brünn stammen.

Dr. Alexandr Knápek takes on DAAD Guest Professorship in the Winter Semester 2020/2021 at OTH Regensburg
DAAD visiting Professor Dr. Alexandr Knápek from the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) located in Brno, is the new guest professor at the Faculty of Applied Natural Sciences and Cultural Studies for the winter semester 2020/2021. Dr. Knápek conducts research there and lectures within bachelor and master study programs entitled Microsystems Engineering and Electrical and Microsystems Engineering. During the winter semester, Dr. Knápek is lecturing two courses in English aimed at students of the previously stated study programs. Those courses are Advanced Optoelectronics and Advanced Semiconductor Technology/Vacuum Systems.
His research interests include cold field-emission structures and related techniques that are generally linked to electron beam lithography and electron microscopy. During his stay at OTH Regensburg, he is working on the topic of “non-orthogonally ordered field emission arrays" together with his host Prof. Dr. Rupert Schreiner and his research group.
Alexandr Knápek, born in 1983, studied at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication on Brno University of Technology where he also received his doctorate in 2013 with a thesis on "Methods of preparation and characterization of experimental field-emission cathodes". After finishing his doctorate, Dr. Knápek moved for a post-doc to the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the CAS, in particular to the group of Dr. Ilona Müllerová, where he dealt with very-low energy scanning electron microscopy.
Since 2017, Dr. Knápek has worked as a researcher in the group of Electron beam lithography headed by Associated Prof. Dr. Vladimír Kolařík, where he has conducted experimental research and also supervised university students who originated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication as well as from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (both form a part of Brno University of Technology).
