Research in the fields of the future
Regensburg Center
Collaboration between researchers across faculties, disciplines and laboratories - that is the core of the Regensburg Centers (RC). Since 2012, OTH Regensburg has used them to demonstrate its concentrated research expertise in key future fields like no other university. Supported by a scientific directorate and an administrative office, they are also characterized by their particular relevance to the research profile of our university - the most recent example of this is the Regensburg Center for Artificial Intelligence.
RCAI
Regensburg Center for Artificial Intelligence
The Regensburg Center for Artificial Intelligence (RCAI) combines the expertise of the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule (OTH) Regensburg in the field of applied research on artificial intelligence. The RCAI covers a very wide range of topics, both technically and domain-specifically, from time series analysis and computer vision to natural language processing and edge AI, as well as future-oriented quantum computing. In addition to fundamental software and system development, the focus is on sustainable engineering and applications in production, infrastructure, mobility and medicine. The main goal is always to create real added value for human beings. Collaborations with industry, society and science and the associated knowledge transfer are therefore essential for the RCAI.

RCBE
Regensburg Center of Biomedical Engineering

The Regensburg Center of Biomedical Engineering (RCBE) coordinates interdisciplinary research in the field of healthcare technology and focuses on medical informatics and medical technology. The aim is to support medicine and the healthcare sector through innovative research, particularly in the areas of prevention, diagnosis, therapy and care. Since its foundation, the RCBE has combined the expertise of the University of Regensburg and OTH Regensburg to work together on practice-oriented solutions and interdisciplinary projects. The focus is on close cooperation and the transparent exchange of knowledge.

RCER
Regensburg Center of Energy and Resources

The Regensburg Center of Energy and Resources - RCER for short - was founded in 2012 and has served as a dynamic interface ever since. We bundle research activities in the field of "Energy and Resources" at OTH Regensburg with regional commercial enterprises and other research partners. In this way, we promote interdisciplinary exchange and the development of innovative energy technologies. The RCER actively supports the formation of research cooperations, offers assistance with project applications and accompanies energy projects from the concept phase to realization. We invite all interested parties to network with us and work together on the challenges of the energy transition. Feel free to contact us!
