Some complex issues can only be solved as a team. Collaborative research therefore also plays a decisive role at OTH Regensburg. We contribute our expertise to various university networks (e.g. OTH-Verbund, INDIGO - Netzwerk Internet und Digitalisierung Ostbayern) and work closely with other East Bavarian colleges and universities.

In this way, we cover the needs of the region and we also have a stronger international presence. We are also part of a large number of other scientific networks. We are a driving force and innovator, particularly in the context of cooperative research projects with partners from research, industry and society.

In four facilities known as technology campuses, the focus is on application-related research and development. The projects running there are technically orientated towards the local companies.

The Centre for Research and Transfer (ZFT) sees itself as a point of contact for companies and businesses from the region that are looking for cooperation opportunities in the field of research. Whether as part of contract research or laboratory services or as a cooperation partner in a publicly funded research project - companies can benefit from the scientific expertise and well-equipped research infrastructure of OTH Regensburg.

OTH Regensburg is a research-intensive university of applied sciences with a broad spectrum of research. We conduct research on future topics and key technologies in numerous projects and interdisciplinary networks. The intensive research activities and high transfer potential of our university go hand in hand with the innovative projects of our doctoral students. Since 2024, OTH Regensburg has had the independent right to award doctorates in six cross-university doctoral centres.
