Technology Campuses

Knowledge and technology transfer centers expand research - in the literal sense of the word, because the facilities which are managed by universities of applied sciences or technical universities, are located primarily in more rural regions. The facilities, usually referred to as technology campuses (TC), serve application-oriented research and development and are technically oriented towards the local companies. The Free State of Bavaria and the municipalities each provide start-up funding for the building, equipment and staff.

TC Parsberg/Lupburg

At the TC Parsberg/Lupburg, the OTH Regensburg and the TH Deggendorf have been pooling their expertise in the fields of materials science, manufacturing technology and digitalisation in manufacturing since 2019. The cooperation opportunities are very diverse and range from industrial contracts with a duration of a few hours to multi-year research projects with international partners.

The network of companies is constantly being expanded by the Digitale Gründerzentrum Parsberg (Digital Start-up Centre Parsberg),which is run by the town of Parsberg. The two universities can also provide advice and support in many areas. The spectrum ranges from the production of mechanical components for prototypes to support for development projects or assistance in the form of start-up scholarships.

TC Neustadt a. d. Donau

The TC Neustadt a. d. Donau is the first institution of its kind to be managed independently by the OTH Regensburg and is particularly unique in that the building is financed by an investor. The thematic focus of the TC Neustadt a. d. Donau is on cross-material lightweight construction as well as on material and component simulation.

The existing laboratories for fibre composite technology under Professor Dr.-Ing. Ingo Ehrlich and numerical mechanics of materials under Professor Dr.-Ing. Aida Nonn were combined for this purpose and expanded with additional personnel and material resources. This offers a wide range of service and cooperation options, which in addition to public research projects also includes projects with partners from industry and research, pure R&D projects as well as simulation, manufacturing, failure analysis and testing assignments from a wide range of industrial sectors.
