The psychosocial counselling at OTH Regensburg offers a trustworthy contact point for your personal problems. Here you will receive assistance in working out individual solutions in crises and conflict situations.
All students who wish to discuss, for example, the following concerns with a counsellor, can take advantage of this service:
- Difficulties in studying, including: anxiety, motivation problems, doubts about your field of study, feelings of overload
- Need for learning guidance
- Psychosomatic disorders
- Questions concerning addiction, eating disorders, mental illnesses
- Stressful situations involving disability or chronic illness
What can you expect during the first consultation?
- Clarification of the problem
- Stabilizing, resource-oriented counselling
- Information on further support options in Regensburg (medical support, therapists, counselling centres)
- If needed, course planning to relieve pressure from overload and to provide possible options in your study programme
- Assistance with applications within the OTH Regensburg
- Mediating function to the faculty, if desired
- Planning and support during any further action necessary
The counsellors are bound by professional confidentiality. This offer is free of charge, non-binding and can be made anonymously. Counselling is provided by telephone, by e-mail, in person via "Zoom on premise" or in the office. Counselling in the open office hours of the General Student Counselling Service is not possible, as we usually schedule one hour for psychosocial talks.
Psychotherapy is not available at the OTH Regensburg.
