STRUCTURE AND MODULES
How is the degree programme structured?
The degree programme is designed for part-time study and has a standard duration of nine semesters. Attendance periods of two block weeks and weekend sessions on two days (e.g. Thursday/Friday) are planned. The choice of specialisation is specified at the time of enrolment and is based on the specialist further training that has been started or completed. The EBP Nursing degree programme builds on the professional expertise you have acquired during your training as a nurse and your practical work experience. Based on this expertise, 105 credit points will be credited to your degree programme, so you only need to earn 105 credit points. This reduces the duration of the programme to 6 semesters.
The following key topics will be covered as part of your degree programme:
- In-depth study of the nursing science specialisations in the fields of practice (depending on your choice of specialisation)
- Scientific work and research methods
- Evidence-based nursing care
- Quality management
- Digital health
- Anthropology and ethics
STUDIES AND ORGANISATIONAL MATTERS
So that everything runs smoothly
How is the degree programme organised? What lecture times do I have? What else is important in the part-time Evidence Based Practice Nursing degree programme? You can find answers to these and other questions here.
The courses take place in a compact block model (one block of four days at the beginning and end of the semester) and approximately fortnightly on two days (e.g. Thursday/Friday). The Bavarian school holidays are usually lecture-free (Christmas, August). The dates are always announced well in advance, approx. six months in advance, so that you can easily organise them to fit in with your work schedule. The course is organised in such a way that it can be completed alongside a full-time job.
All courses take place on the OTH Regensburg campus at the Seybothstraße and Prüfeningerstraße locations. The entire university infrastructure is available to you during your studies (IT equipment, library, student centre, canteen, university sports facilities, etc.). They are enrolled in the same way as all other students.
There are various admission routes:
Admission requirements for the part-time Bachelor's degree in Evidence Based Practice Nursing are a completed vocational training as a registered nurse (healthcare and nursing, healthcare and pediatric nursing, geriatric nursing) followed by at least three years of relevant professional experience. A further prerequisite for enrolling on the course is participation in a counseling interview.
If you have a high school diploma, you can also start your studies directly after your vocational training.
In addition, you must have already started or completed the DKG further training course in your chosen specialization.
