Test benches

Combustion engine test benches

The engine test benches are equipped with state-of-the-art measurement technology to enable comprehensive analysis and optimization of combustion processes and exhaust gas aftertreatment concepts. Indexing systems from AVL (IndiCom) are used for high-pressure indexing and ETAS Inca serves as the measurement and application environment. In addition, exhaust gas measuring systems for the detailed analysis of exhaust gas components (CO,CO2, THC, NO, NOx, NH3) as well as particle measurement technology (number, size and distribution) and fuel consumption measurement technology are integrated. The test benches are designed for a wide range of fuels, including conventional fuels such as diesel and petrol as well as synthetic (OME) and plant-based fuels (e.g. rapeseed oil, jatropha).
