  • Whether digital or analog, in the lecture hall, office or at the kitchen table - lectures, discussions and meetings are appointments that can be extremely tiring, especially due to long periods of sitting and the concentration required. If the air is also stale or the coffee has run out, dozing off is virtually unavoidable.

The active break is designed for precisely this situation. Short videos (around 6 minutes each) instruct and demonstrate easy movement exercises that can be carried out in any lecture hall, conference room or office. Firmly integrated into everyday university life, regular active breaks keep you fit, healthy and focused - for a radiant performance, even on long days.

The videos were made available with the kind support of the University of Regensburg.

  • Constantly annoyed or frustrated even after months of exceptional circumstances? Is your sleep not really restful at the moment or is tiredness a permanent condition?

The good news is that these symptoms are normal self-protective reactions of the entire organism to an extraordinary and overwhelming event and that it is possible to do something about them. We have collected some suggestions and offers here on how to strengthen psychological resilience, i.e. the ability to survive difficult life situations and phases without lasting restrictions.

An introductory documentary on the topic of resilience (approx. 30 min): Protective shield for the soul - can strength be learned?

Exercises and helpful texts, provided by the University of Mainz

A short film (approx. 7 min) on the topic: Studying in times of Corona - getting through the crisis well, but how?

Current offers

  • Although people are aware of the health risks of smoking, the number of serious attempts to stop smoking has fallen continuously in recent years. In order to increase the population's motivation to stop smoking and increase the number of quit attempts, the Institute for Therapy and Health Research (IFT-Nord) is organizing the nationwide join-in initiative "Smoke-free in May 2024" with funding from the Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA).

Until the end of April 2024, smokers aged 18 and over who regularly use cigarettes, e-cigarettes or tobacco heaters, as well as supporters if they wish, can register and, with a little luck, win up to 1,000 euros if they successfully quit smoking in May. Participants will initially be accompanied in April with a countdown and ideas for preparation.

Then, from May 1 to 31, 2024, they will receive useful tips and motivational inspiration every day to help them quit smoking. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact the "Smoke-free in May" team: rauchfrei-im-mai(at)ift-nord.de or directly at www.rauchfrei-im-mai.de
