Supervisors are asked to ensure that their staff attend mandatory check-ups if required by their work tasks. Please check all activities and workplaces within your area of responsibility — using risk assessments — to determine whether mandatory check-ups are necessary. The final list of mandatory check-up occasions can be found in the appendix to the Occupational Health Care Ordinance: Appendix ArbMedVV — Single Regulation.

Note: Occupational health care in the workplace includes mandatory, offered, and requested check-ups.

    Types of Occupational Health Care

    Mandatory check-ups

must be arranged for certain particularly hazardous activities; they must be conducted before starting the activity and then at regular intervals.

    Examples:

-Working in noisy environments (over 85 dB)

-Activities involving certain hazardous substances when exposure limits are exceeded

    -Work involving specific biological agents

-Wet work lasting four hours or more per day

Offered check-ups must be offered for certain hazardous activities.

    Examples:

-Activities involving certain hazardous substances where exposure cannot be ruled out and no mandatory check-up is required

-Wet work lasting more than two hours per day

    -Work at screen-based workstations

Requested check-ups must be made available at the employee’s request if a health risk cannot be ruled out.

    Examples:

-If an employee suspects a link between psychological stress at work and current health complaints, a requested check-up is a helpful tool for personal clarification and advice.

    • -As part of a requested check-up, an employee can also receive advice on whether their current workstation is compatible with their health or existing pre-existing conditions.

Example 1: A plasterer visits the company doctor. His job requires wearing safety shoes. During the medical history, he complains of foot discomfort. As a diabetic, he has a higher risk of foot conditions. An inspection of his feet reveals signs of pressure points. In consultation with the occupational safety specialist, better-fitting safety shoes are provided.
    • Example 2: An employee had suffered from severe myocarditis with advanced heart failure two years prior and had a defibrillator implanted as a precaution. He visits the company doctor’s office because he fears interference with the defibrillator at his workplace. An on-site inspection reveals that electromagnetic and magnetic influences on the defibrillator cannot be ruled out. Safe distances to various machines are established.

  • Have you had an accident on campus or on the way to the university?

    Employees

    1. please complete an accident report form.

    a) Accident report for employees covered by collective agreements: The report must be made if an accident at work or an accident on the way to work (e.g. accident on the way between home and work) results in an incapacity to work of more than 3 calendar days or the death of an insured person. The Bayerische Landesunfallkasse is responsible.

    b) Accident report for civil servants: The application for recognition of an occupational accident must be completed in all cases, regardless of incapacity for work, as the medical costs incurred are not covered by the allowance office. The accident office at the State Finance Office is responsible.

Note: In both cases, the forms must be signed by the Registrar or President before they are forwarded.

    2. please inform Nicole Misirli, Human Resources Department

    Students

An accident must be reported immediately to theAdmissions and Organization Departmentby means of an accident report or additionally by means of acommuting accident questionnaireby e-mail.

When should you consult a transit doctor?

Accident victims must be presented to a general practitioner after an accident at work or commuting accident if - the accident injury leads to incapacity for work beyond the day of the accident, or - the necessary medical treatment is expected to last for more than a week, or - remedies and aids are to be prescribed, or - it is a case of a recurrence of illness due to the consequences of the accident.

The attending physician decides whether general medical treatment is to be provided by the general practitioner or whether special medical treatment is required due to the nature or severity of the injury, which he then regularly provides himself. In cases of general (general practitioner) treatment, he monitors the healing process. The regional associations will only involve suitable doctors with the appropriate equipment in the practice/clinic in the through-doctor procedure. You can find the nearest accident insurance physicians under State Associations of Statutory Accident Insurance. Note: Under search criteria, enter only REGENSBURG for location, leave other fields blank.

    Recording the first aid treatment

Even if a visit to the doctor was not necessary, the accident did not have to be reported and the injuries could be treated by a first aider, an entry must be made in the first aid book/pad. Records must be kept of every first aid service in accordance with § 24 Para. 6 of the accident prevention regulation "Principles of Prevention" (BGV A1) and kept for five years. The records must be treated confidentially. The information serves as proof that the injury/illness occurred during an insured activity. These records can be very important if late effects (e.g. infection after a cut) should occur.

  • With increasing age, but not only for this reason, vision can deteriorate. Presbyopia is a normal change in the lens, usually occurring from the age of 40, which makes activities that require sharp vision at close range particularly difficult. In many cases, this symptom can be treated with a normal visual aid or so-called age-related near glasses. If the accommodation capacity is more severely impaired and the age-related near glasses are no longer sufficient for screen work, or if the normal visual aid is sufficient for everyday life but leads to discomfort when working with a screen, screen glasses are necessary.

Determining the need for suitable screen glasses requires the coordinated cooperation of the person carrying out the eye test, the ophthalmologist and the optician. The costs for the ophthalmologist's examination and for the procurement of screen glasses are borne by the employer/principal (please refer to the list of billable costs under 3.). To ensure a uniform procedure, the attached application form must be used.

For further information, please refer to the Bekanntmachung der bay. Regierung. And theInfoblatt der deutschen gesetzlichen Unfallversicherung (DGUV)

The definition and prescription of special visual aids at VDU workstations (VDU glasses) often lead to misunderstandings in practice. This information on indications and prescription procedures is intended to provide assistance for company doctors, ophthalmologists and companies.

To determine whether screen glasses are required or to have them made, follow the four steps below:

    1. examination of the eyes by a company doctor or other competent person

The employee must be offered and paid for an eye examination by the employer/principal, regardless of the duration of work at the VDU. If the visual acuity test meets the minimum requirements in accordance with G 37, but complaints are reported in connection with VDU work, the VDU workstation must be examined for ergonomic deficiencies. For this purpose, the dates of the occupational safety screening offers can also be used.

    2. examination by an ophthalmologist

This involves an examination for asthenopic (defective vision-related) complaints, or an examination of the suitability of existing everyday glasses. If correction is required, new everyday glasses are usually prescribed. A trial is then carried out with this normal visual aid. The costs of this examination are not always reimbursed by the health insurance company; the ophthalmologist must be presented with the ophthalmologist's certificate - signed by the President or Registrar - so that the costs are borne by the employer.

    3. spectacle frames

The glasses are made by an optician from the attached lists: List 1 and List 2. Please also refer to the contract price list with the costs or shares covered by the employer/employer.

    4. assumption of costs

The costs are paid by the employee in advance and then (partially) reimbursed by the Finance Department, attention Mrs. Helene Ladikov

  • The VDU workstation is of central interest when it comes to the ergonomic improvement of specific work situations. If you consider how long you work at a computer every day, then the duration of your work at the monitor alone speaks for the need for a working situation that is as healthy as possible. The only other place you spend as much time as when working professionally at a computer screen is in bed. The interplay of screen, keyboard, chair, other input devices, the desk, the size of the work surface, the noise level in the workspace, the supply of fresh air, the lighting, the degree of glare, the sitting posture at the monitor, etc. all play an important role in the design of an optimal VDU workstation and can make an important contribution to avoiding health complaints.

The ergonomics consultation is carried out by Mr. Christian Bergauer (qualified sports instructor, Brummer physiotherapy practice, Regensburg) and takes place directly at your workplace, lasting around 20-30 minutes.

  • Rescue meeting points

In order to save valuable time in the event of accidents or fires, meeting points have been defined for external rescue services. When an accident is reported, the operations center (integrated control center) should be informed specifically which rescue meeting point the vehicles must head for. At the rescue meeting point, the arriving rescue vehicle is awaited by first responders or helpers and the paramedics are accompanied from there to the scene of the accident. This can be done, for example, by a person waving in the access road and at the rescue meeting point. This makes it much easier for emergency vehicles approaching with blue lights to find their way and saves valuable time.

If this is not known or if injured persons cannot reach this rescue meeting point, it is absolutely necessary to form a rescue chain to instruct the emergency services. This can be done, for example, by a person waving in the access road and at the rescue meeting point. The orientation of the emergency vehicles approaching with blue lights is made considerably easier.

    Assembly points

An assembly point is a point where all people from a building should gather in the event of fire or damage, i.e. usually during a building evacuation. Assembly points offer the opportunity to check the evacuation of a danger zone. It is also possible to obtain a further overview of the current situation in individual areas by interviewing people who have arrived at the assembly point. In addition, people who have arrived directly from hazardous areas can be given targeted assistance.

The location of the assembly points at the OTH can be found at:
