Fair Trade Action
"Sweet revolution meets sustainable use of electrical devices"
The "Social Responsibility and Sustainability" steering group has set itself the goal of coordinating and anchoring sustainability activities at OTH Regensburg. To this end, working groups have been set up with stakeholders from all areas of the university. We will combine the idea of the "Sweet Revolution" with a topic that we also consider relevant in the run-up to Christmas: fair trade and the production of electrical appliances. A cooperation between the Green Office and the computer center has been formed for this purpose. The aim is to draw attention to the sustainable use of electrical appliances within the university and to provide information on the topic of sustainable data management.
As part of the campaign, a visual and explanatory model on the subject of rare raw materials was made from a defective laptop in addition to information material on the subject. On the same day, a group of students also launched a survey on the topic of "modern slavery". Information material was also distributed. Together with the Faculty of Business Administration, we also drew attention to the idea of a "Digital Clean Up Day 2024" on that day.
